We are living in an exciting time of innovation and growth.

One need not look far to see that it’s true — it has barely been a month since ETH2 staking went live, but users are already presented with plenty of third party staking platforms. They range from the centralised exchanges like Binance to DeFi projects like Rocket Pool and StakeWise, and differ on a variety of dimensions.

Yet among all their differences, they have one thing in common: they all seek to find solutions to the necessary frictions that anyone encounters when staking ETH. …

It is the final countdown ⏱️🎶

The eagerly anticipated and much promised Pyrmont migration is finally complete! It marks the last stage of testing before the official release of StakeWise on the mainnet. We are excited to be heading into this phase with a growing community and are looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the performance 🏆

This is what running on Pyrmont means compared to the previous testnet:

1. Validators take much faster to activate, so the Pool’s users will get to experience their tokens in action, while Solo users will be able to properly test the billing system…

The historic day of the Eth2 Deposit Contract release is here, and the stage could not be set more perfectly for the announcement of our final beta.

Today, we are launching StakeWise v2, which is the final iteration of our platform before Phase 0. It signals the start of tokenized staking and the introduction of multiple major improvements to our infrastructure. It also shows off a unique payment system for non-custodial Solo validators and adds the initial documentation about StakeWise products.

Whether you’re planning to stake ETH on your own or with a provider, you do not want to miss out on this beta because all the participants are in for an awesome surprise at the end! …

In advance of the upcoming launch of StakeWise 2.0 (which includes tokenized staking), we want to inform the community about the results of the first beta and the process of migration to the new one.

Conclusion of the current beta

The version of StakeWise currently running in public beta is missing new features and we will soon be phasing it out. It served its purpose well by giving us exposure to future stakers and allowing us to test our ability to run thousands of validators and debug on the go. We were testing in an environment of constantly changing client versions, long periods of non-participation, client bugs and even DDoS attempts on our system. …

Over the past few weeks, we have been hard at work bringing improvements to StakeWise, both in terms of stability and in terms of functionality. We have been saving this announcement for a while, but the time has finally come to reveal our latest feature.

With the next update, your custodial stakes on StakeWise will get tokenized and will eventually become tradable on Uniswap/Balancer etc. …

Time flies when you’re having fun!

As we pushed updates and grew our community to the first 150 users, there was a lot of fun to be had, but it also meant that a month went by without a Medium update. So without further ado, let us report on the most important bit of our progress in the past month — the Medalla Migration!

Migration to the Medalla Testnet

Ah, Medalla — the Testnet that Ethereum fans all over the world so eagerly anticipated. Designed to be the Testnet to rule them all, Medalla is the final rehearsal before the launch of Phase 0. …

As mentioned earlier last week on our Discord channel, the StakeWise team wants to provide a detailed update on the events which led to validators being down during the early hours launch of Medalla.

On August 4th at approximately 9 am EST, the Medalla beacon chain was launched. Approximately 16 hours earlier, the Prysmatic Labs team had introduced keystore migration which transforms keys from one format to another. Currently, StakeWise uses the Prysm client to run 100% of its validators.

StakeWise already had more than 1000 validators running by the time the new client version was released. StakeWise uses its own “validator operator” which listens to its smart contracts, creates new validator keys, and calls the registration function on its smart contracts to register new validators. …

Hello folks, here comes another update from us!

Our new release just went live and here is what we included:

  • We added non-custodial solo staking.

This is a major milestone for StakeWise and we’re over the moon to finally have it released! You can now test staking with your own withdrawal key, which allows you to always maintain full custody of the stake. You will find details about non-custodial solo staking below.

  • We started showing our “Staking fee” in the custodial staking deposit process.

This is the first step towards educating our users about the pricing.

  • We added “Staking duration” to deposit details.

Conventional wisdom tells us that keeping all eggs in one basket is risky. We believe the same is true for staking, especially when you run multiple validators.

Introducing StakeWise — your alternative all-in-one staking provider you can test today (beta).

StakeWise has one overarching purpose — to fully meet your ETH staking needs at a competitive price point. Most of you must be familiar with the different modes of staking by now, so let us focus on why you should consider diversifying with help of StakeWise:

1) You don’t need any technical knowledge to stake with us.

Avoid complex setups & fear of penalties. Simply log into StakeWise with your wallet and choose a staking method. We take care of the rest. You can track your earnings, check the status of your validator, and even withdraw your deposit before Phase 2 (T&Cs apply). …

Hey @everyone!

Month of June is behind us, and what a month it was! Time flew by as we concentrated on making improvements to StakeWise (big and small) and prepared for launch of our marketing campaign (keep your eyes peeled). Today, we would like to share some of the progress we’ve made during the past few weeks, focusing on the update to our website:

  • We simplified our dashboard by making it easier to navigate between Pools and Solo options.

We consolidated our features to just two sections instead of four to de-clutter our dashboard. The split between Pools and Solo reflects fundamental differences between two products and how users think about modes of staking, so separation made sense. …
