Bridging osETH To Arbitrum — How & Why To Do It

Welcome to Arbitrum, where the allure of fast and cost-effective transactions has captivated the Ethereum faithful.

With average transaction fees under $0.05 and swift confirmations, Arbitrum has already amassed over $13 billion in assets.

Now, we are excited to announce that osETH has finally joined Arbitrum’s thriving ecosystem! The first osETH liquidity pools have been deployed on Balancer and Ramses Exchange, and more integrations are on their way.

To access all the cool new opportunities available to osETH on Arbitrum, the token must be bridged from Ethereum Network to Arbitrum. If this sounds daunting, don’t worry — it is so simple, anyone can do it!

In this article we look at how to bridge osETH from mainnet to Arbitrum (and back), and give a quick overview of the opportunities available to osETH bridgooors once on the new network. Let’s dive in!

How to bridge osETH to Arbitrum and back

📺 Head to our own StakeWise Bridge (powered by Wormhole) and select your networks: from Ethereum to Arbitrum (or vice versa if bridging back).

🔌 Connect your wallet in both from and to sections.

🪙 Press on Select Asset and choose osETH from the list.

🔢 Enter the amount of osETH to be bridged. PS: make sure that the Expected Amount roughly matches your input (minor fees will be applied, but that’s it).

✅ Press on Approve and Proceed With Transaction to approve osETH for spending and initiate bridging.

That’s it! Once the bridging process is completed (~15–20 minutes), the interface will inform you about a successful bridging transaction, and offer to add osETH to your wallet. You can also check the bridging status on Wormholescan.

PS: you will also need to bridge ETH to interact with dApps on Arbitrum — to be used as gas. Follow the procedure above, selecting ETH for bridging where relevant.

What is StakeWise Bridge

StakeWise Bridge is an interface for bridging assets via Wormhole and other secure routes, allowing users to move crypto between networks from a single place.

StakeWise Bridge is a front-end to Wormhole that was deployed by the StakeWise team. We have previously integrated the Wormhole-powered Native Token Transfer (NTT) technology for osETH and SWISE tokens, to enable simple multi-chain functionality for them, and using their bridging tech under the hood is a part of this integration.

The use of NTT, Wormhole, and bridges that are powered by it is becoming industry practice for adding multichain capabilities to tokens. Prior to StakeWise, Wormhole was also chosen by Lido for helping stETH go multichain.

Early osETH opportunities on Arbitrum

Our strategy for launching osETH on Arbitrum mirrors our successful approach on the Ethereum mainnet — the first step is establishing a robust liquidity profile on prominent DEXs, before moving on to deeper integrations for lending, derivatives, and more!

You can already provide liquidity and earn trading fees, staking yield, and ARB incentives in two recently deployed liquidity pools:

  1. osETH-ETH pool on Balancer (see guide), and
  2. osETH-wstETH pool on Ramses Exchange (see guide).
