Recently, StakeWise joined the Obol Collective because we believe in the importance of keeping Ethereum decentralized and building public goods without vested interests.
We’re happy to say that StakeWise will also be participating in the Obol Contributions Program launch, which looks to promote the use of Obol Distributed Validators (DVs) and reward stakers for caring about decentralization 💰.
By staking in Vaults with Obol DVs, you will not just earn staking rewards but also play a vital role in strengthening Ethereum’s foundation — the consensus layer — while earning future governance and ownership of the Obol Collective. Read on to learn what it is all about!
StakeWise + Obol = DV Vaults 🔒
Every Obol DV contributes 1% of its staking rewards to the “1% For Decentralization” retroactive funding mechanism set up by the Obol Collective. With the launch of the Obol Contributions Program, stakers in Vaults with Obol DVs will have their Contributions tracked, and these will serve as the basis for future governance and ownership of the Obol Collective. The retroactive funding mechanism focuses on public goods that strengthen and decentralise Ethereum’s consensus layer, and will be managed by the Collective’s governance.
It’s no coincidence that StakeWise decided to join the Contributions Program as a launch partner. Our V3 Vaults are permissionless, automated, and customizable, allowing them to easily participate in the Contributions Program and set up Obol DVs to make setups more robust, while contributing to Ethereum’s decentralization.
We look forward to working with the Obol Collective team to increase awareness of the Retroactive Funding Mechanism, and have more Vaults running Obol DVs — including by simplifying their deployment via the StakeWise UI in the near future.
The StakeWise Chorus One Obol Vault ✅
The Chorus One Obol Vault on StakeWise is the first to join the Contributions Program. It automatically allocates 1% of all staking rewards to the Obol Collective’s Retroactive Funding Mechanism (👉 RAF), supporting essential infrastructure that decentralizes Ethereum.
As contributors to the Obol 1% for Decentralization fund, stakers in the Chorus One Obol Vault will be recognized through the Obol Contributions Program, with contributions tracked and serving as the basis for future governance and ownership of the Obol Collective.
